The Evolution of a Card - The thought process

I started with the sentiment.
I chose the 2 geometric coloured shapes to represent 'warm' clouds. The larger heart represents the sun. The scrolls and smaller heart represent the 'rain of 'love'.

Products and items used to make this card:

140lb watercolour paper
3D Crystal Lacquer
Martha Stewart Markers
Making Memories rub-on books- doodles

An Art Effect Study - Kira and ACDSee Pro 3

The original
I've been toying with the idea of drawing a new image/logo and I  love to play around with different programs like Photoshop, ACDSee, PaintShop, etc.
I drew a picture and then manipulated it to see if I could create a new 'image' for myself.

The program du jour is ACDSee Pro 3, where I am manipulating a picture drawn with Copics and sparkle markers and Martha Stewart Halloween colors inks. (I love that I can pick up a 6 pack of her inks for $8. because it was labelled as Halloween colors) - purple, gold... I can use those ALL year long:)

But I digress.

Close-up and Personal -- she's watching you!

I shot this from the top down.

Effect: Glowing Edges

Effect: pink glowing edge

Effect: Coral Glowing Edge. You can notice the effect in the eyelashes
Effect: Mosaic

Wedding Time: Mazel Tov!

I've been thinking a lot about my Mom lately and all the wonderful, sage words she had for me.  She was so wise.  One of my favourites was about celebrations.

Always celebrate.  Look for reasons to celebrate.  If you are invited to a party, a wedding, a bar mitzvah; GO!
If it is a special occasion and it's 200 miles away; GO!
Life is short. People tend to get together more for funerals than celebrations.

So Celebrate!

My latest card, for your viewing pleasure:)
