Each design team member will choose on Monday one person that commented on their blog to receive the digi stamp they used - FOR FREE!!! The digi I was given is called ELFSPARKLE  and it was designed by Sherri Baldy; and I think it's so adorable.
I love Sherri Baldy stamps because her line art is detailed, but clean and easy to colour.
Doesn’t that sound like a fun little gift just for stopping by?

In order to qualify for my digital stamp, you need to leave a comment about this post on my blog AND become a Follower of mine.

REMEMBER:
GRAND PRIZE: Digital Stamps PLUS everything you see here! WOW!!
We have a prize for the Grand Prize Winner!
We will randomly draw on Monday evening and in a new post announce a winner that will win 3 digi stamps of their choice from our store. They are valued at $3.99 each, which equals a near $12.00 value.
And a whole bunch of other stuff pictured here.

And be sure to leave a way to contact you, and in the comment on this main blog if you want you can go to http://scrapbookstampsociety and let us know which digi stamp is your favorite. If you do that you will receive that one in addition to the 3 digis you choose, if you win!
When you finish reading my post, your next stop on the hop is at
And now meet ElfSparkle!

Do you see the layers and gap where I cut out a 'track' for my slide? The key thing to do is to make the opening wide enough that the slider glides easily, but not so big that the slider won't stay in the track.

The card is very sturdy and is great as a 'table-top' card.

I added Flock to emphasize fur and snow.

Notice Rudolph and his present are at the top of the 'slide'

Notice Rudolph and his present are at the bottom of the 'slide'
Kids have a lot of fun sliding the image back and forth.

Side Pocket is perfect for placing a note, money, Gift Card, etc.

This is a card of many parts. I love how differently it looks depending on which flaps are open.

A full tutorial on how I made this card will be available this week on my blog.  If you become a Follower and sign up for my e-mails, you will be notified when it has been posted.
I will show how to make the penny slider and how I deconstructed an 'Always' sample holder to make this card.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the Hop!

'Art Deco' ATC and Tutorial for LisaLizaLou

One of my 'inspirational' drawings -- I may use it in something else

This month's theme is 'Art Deco' and I drew I don't know how many different images, but finally chose this Christmas tree.

Art Deco is about geometry, straight lines, height in images and words, etc.
I decided to do a geometric tree and ONLY DRAW ONE HALF of the tree so I would be POSITIVE my image was symmetrical.  i.e. I copied my 'half of tree', flipped it and then moved it right beside the other half to form ONE perfectly symmetrical tree.
I don't know about you, but I can be quite challenged when trying to draw anything symmetrical.

So I created the tree, including the ornaments and the words, using Snaggit Editor which allows you to play with vectors and create any shapes you desire. I then printed it on card stock. The tree is coloured in with Bienfang watercolour brushes.

While the paint was still wet I sprinkled with UTEE and embossed the entire image. But not just once: 3 times.

TIP - i.e. While the UTEE was still hot I quickly sprinkled more UTEE on, and repeated this.  You wind up with a nice, thick glossy coat.

I chose the red and gold square of felt embossed paper to cover my base card.

QUICKIE TIP  - Don't feel like schlepping out a sewing machine to stitch borders: Use RUB-ONS! I have Rub-Ons that look like stitching and I think it looks great and it adhered beautifully to the paper.

I adhered the gold & red paper with my Scotch Advanced Tape Glider (because I try to minimize the amount of 'wet' glue I use on projects like this.)

To make sure the patterned paper and 'stitching' was secure, I painted a thin coat of Martha Stewart's decoupage glue and sealer over the entire piece and then, while still wet, attached my tree to the red and gold paper.  I had to hold it in place for a little while because the embossing made it rather stiff.
Once dry, I added the red rose at the top using my hot glue gun.

I hope whoever receives my card like it!

When bad things happen to good people...

We all have our own troubles and worries and truth be told, if most of us had the chance to trade with someone else, we'd keep our own.
I have had my share of heartache and I know it has changed me forever, but nothing can compare with the devastation for a parent who loses a child. No matter the age.
Unfortunately my Design Team for Addicted-to-Stamps was touched by such an event when a young mother, pregnant with her third child, lost her toddler when the family nanny accidentally ran over the child.
Sherri Baldy designed a beautiful image in memory of this child and the entire design team has each created a special card to be given to this grief-stricken family.

This is my card:

I used chalks and markers. The flowers are stickers and the 'Thinking of You" is a 'Peel Offs'.
I printed the inside sentiment using my printer, and then attached it to velum.

Vector Patterns by COLOURlovers

Free Trial - Daily Pattern Creation with Seamless Studio

I am enjoying my free 14 day trial of Seamless Studio, and I love it. I enjoy drawing everyday, and now with this software I can create patterns, templates and colour palettes daily as well. You can save your creations as SVG, PNG, or JPEG files. They can be exported (eg. to COLOURLovers) as a jpeg, or if you are a CRICUT fan, as an SVG! Create a shape and using Sure Cuts a Lot, cut out your shape/pattern!

Today's creation was 'Hawaiian Vacation'.  What is SO GREAT about COLOURLovers is that you can use your own pattern, or anyone else's on the site, and then colour it to YOUR liking and specifications! I have had many templates re-coloured by others and it's really exciting to share the creativity!

Thank you for stopping by!
