Watercolours
One of the hardest things I've ever learned is how to watercolour. You really have to think! Imagine that! Envisioning the end product is obligatory. You really may not use 'white' paint and therefore all the white in your painting is the watercolour paper itself.

Painting in watercolour can be terribly time-consuming, include the prep and clean-up, and that makes it difficult to fit into my schedule as much as I would like.

I love the painting 'On the porch in Tuscany', did you go to a tutor to learn watercolours, I know it's a very difficult discipline but would love to learn myself. Great work. Regards Mandy Currie
ReplyDeleteThank you Dena
ReplyDeleteThank you Mandy. Yes, I took classes for 3 years:)
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely. I avoided water color for a long time because so many people warned me that it was difficult...but when I finally tried it, I found that I really resonated to it. It is far more forgiving than I realized...at least for me. Looks like you are really figuring it out. Nice job. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bettina. I need to put up my recent pics, though -- I keep meaning to! I find it 'hard' painting anything other than watercolour, because the thought process is so different. i.e. Painting in acrylics 'scares me'!! lol
DeleteHey Roberta,
