Festive Friday Blog Hop - Scraps of Christmas Past

Scraps of Christmas Past

Hi there everyone and Merry Christmas! It's time for another Festive Blog Hop and hopefully you have found me from Cynthia's post, if not, WELCOME!, and please follow the list of our participants.

Using scraps is fun and a welcomed challenge.  Here's what I did ...

Red cardstock - 11 1/2 by 5 - fold in half
Candystripe cardstock - 4 1/2 by 4 3/4
adhere candystripe to red base
cut out a sentiment from scrapbook paper and place it like you would a ribbon along the bottom portion of the card.
Cut out various shapes and objects from your Christmas-themed paper.  I chose an oval lights shape and then I cut out a red ornament.  Adhere the shapes with pop dots.

For the ornament ribbon, I took a red ribbon and cut a 5 inch strip in 2 because it was too wide.  I glued the ribbon to the underside of the ornament top.

3 green 15" pieces of wool were wrapped around the front of the card and then I knotted it off to the side.  I took the cute candystripe button brad and stuck it through the knot so it won't protrude to the inside of the card.

Final touches: crystal, bronze and gold Stickles dotted around the card and used to write 'noel'.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your hopping!
