Happy UnBirthday Darling!

I took a week off from teaching and I really needed the rest.

I managed to get a few things done: made a bunch of Thank You and Birthday cards to send to my daughter at university. She likes to have a 'stash' of cards at the ready for birthdays or special occasions. She got 6 of each.

It was my wonderful husband's birthday yesterday and I made him this card.  It's what I call an 'UnBirthday Card' because he really hates celebrating his birthday.

The message inside was roughly, "...I know you don't like celebrating, but I am grateful you were born and I would like to celebrate."

I love the combination of the houndstooth pattern and colour with the floral cardstock.

I used a lovely olive green Bazzill  card base.

I then placed the hounds tooth on top, then a mat of ivory DCWV embossed paper, and then the Recollections floral card stock on top.

The sentiment is Hero Arts

The clock embellishment was cut from the ivory cartdstock and distressed with Vintage Photo distress ink. Foam dots were applied to stagger the height.

Liquid Pearl was used for fine details.

  1. What a fun idea "unbirthday"! I know some people who don't like celebrating their birthday either. Love the clock you put on your hubby's card and the fun houndstooth pattern. Hope he had a fun day.
